Becker Signed 6-year Contract

LONDON: Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker signed a six -year contract extension with the Premier League club today.

The Brazilian has raised his profile as one of the world’s top goalkeepers since arriving at Anfield from Roma for £ 66 million in 2018.

He has won the Champions League, Premier League and FIFA Club World Cup with Jurgen Klopp’s squad as well as the UEFA Yashin Award for goalkeeper for his performances in the Reds 2019 European campaign.

Alisson was the first goalkeeper in Liverpool history to score a goal after heading in the winning goal at West Bromwich Albion in May.

The 28 -year -old is currently tied with Liverpool until 2027, becoming the third player to pursue a future with the Reds since last week.

“I don’t think I have to waste a lot of time thinking about it,” Alisson told Liverpool’s website.

“It’s something we’ve built over the last three years, confidence, a sense of trust, my trust in the club and the club against me.

“My family and I, we’re really happy here. My son is adjusting in England, in a different country, but they grew up that way. So we’re very happy.”
