MANCHESTER, United Kingdom: Mauricio Pochettino insists he is happy to end his contract until 2023 at Paris Saint-Germain despite speculation linking him with a vacant managerial post at Manchester United.

The Argentine has long been linked with a job at Old Trafford after successfully leading a low -spending team given to him for six seasons in the Premier League with Southampton and Tottenham.

United sacked Solskjaer on Sunday after winning just once in seven Premier League games but insisted they wanted to wait until the end of the season before naming a replacement.

It looks to open the door for the transfer of Pochettino, who is still on track to win his first league title in his coaching career when creating an 11 -point gap in Ligue 1.

He is also aiming to lead the Qatar-owned club to win the Champions League after being strengthened by star strikers led by Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Pochettino is in Manchester this week but will travel to Manchester City as PSG aim for a place in the last 16 of the Champions League if they win at the Etihad.

“My contract is until 2023, this season and another season. I’m not saying anything different, I’m happy at PSG, that’s for sure, it’s not something to think about. I’m happy in Paris,” Pochettino said.

“I am very happy at PSG and focused on doing what we have to do. I love the club, I love the fans, we are battling with an 11-point gap in Ligue 1 and we are competing to qualify in the Champions League. That is my priority and my responsibility. “
