LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to chase a place in the top four of the English Premier League (EPL) after losing 1-2 at the hands of West Ham United, here.

The result at the London Stadium saw Spurs manager Jose Mourinho receive the same fate as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who lost 0-2 to Everton at Anfield yesterday.

However, it was a meaningful victory for West Ham when David Moyes’ squad snatched fourth league spot from Chelsea.

West Ham are now collecting 45 points after 25 games, two points ahead of Chelsea who fall to fifth place.

Spurs occupy ninth place with 36 points, as a result of 10 wins, six draws and eight defeats.

In the action, Michail Antonio put West Ham ahead as early as the fifth minute before Jesse Lingard doubled the lead for the hosts, four minutes after the second half.

Meanwhile, Spurs’ lone goal was contributed by Lucas Moura who completed Gareth Bale’s pass in the 64th minute.
