Klopp: No Need To Sign More Players

LIVERPOOL: Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool don’t need any more players because he’s pretty confident with the squad they have at the moment.

Liverpool are not active in the summer transfer window this time, only bringing in center-back Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig in addition to the loss of Georginio Wijnaldum who joined Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Andy Robertson’s ankle ligament injury during a friendly against Athletic Bilbao left the defender out of action for several weeks.

Although Liverpool are said to be still trying to get some players before the window closes – including midfielder Renato Sanches – Klopp does not feel he needs to continue the search.

“It’s summer and the transfer window is still open, so everyone is expecting new players.

“Let’s look at the squad now. Do you want to buy a new center -back? A new goalkeeper? We already have good players there.

“In the midfield, we have experienced players like Thiago, Fabinho, (Jordan) Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.

“Then we have young players Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones. On our attacking line there are Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Xherdan Shaqiri, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi.

“If you want to buy great players, you have to spend a huge amount. We don’t have to do that because players like that are already with us,” Klopp said.

Liverpool will start their Premier League campaign at the Norwich site which is returning to the top stage this season.
