LIVERPOOL: Jurgen Klopp says Mohamed Salah deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year – but admits the absence of the championship in the 2020-21 season will affect his chances.
Liverpool finished third in the Premier League last season after being plagued by injury, but Salah remained at his best with 31 goals in 51 games for the Reds.
The 29 -year -old from Egypt started the campaign with excellence, scoring 10 goals in 10 games, making him one of the best players in the world at the moment.
“I don’t know how you win the Ballon d’Or. If it’s about being in the Champions League final, scoring the most goals, it might be difficult (for Salah).
“But if it’s about performances over the last two years, I think he has a chance,” Klopp said.
Salah is on the shortlist of candidates and the winner will be announced on November 29.
One scored an interesting goal against Watford last Saturday in which Liverpool won 5-0. The goal from the solo movement was also scored during the 2-2 draw against Manchester City before the international break.
