Moenchengladbach Lost Again

BERLIN: Borussia Moenchengladbach lost for the fifth time in a row in the Bundesliga just now, losing 3-1 at the hands of Augsburg just four days before they face Manchester City in the Champions League.

Borussia have not won since mid -January since they announced Marco Rose would be Dortmund’s coach next season.

They will also face tough Champions League competition in Budapest early on Wednesday morning to turn a 2-0 deficit after losing to Premier League leaders City.

They squandered a chance to take the lead in the first half when Lars Stindl failed to complete a penalty.

Substitute Ruben Vargas gave Augsburg the lead in the 52nd minute but was equalized 15 minutes later by Germany international Florian Neuhaus.

Marco Richter restored the home side’s lead and Andre Hahn added a third in the final minutes.

The win puts Augsburg five points above the relegation zone while Borussia are 10th, 10 points behind places in the Champions League.
