Mourinho Responds To Criticism

LONDON: Jose Mourinho responded to criticism labeling him as a strong defender after Tottenham created 100 goals this season with a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace this morning.

Gareth Bale and Harry Kane each scored twice as Mourinho’s side climbed to sixth in the Premier League with their third straight win.

Despite the perception that Mourinho is making Tottenham boring with his conservative tactics, the north London squad has already scored 18 goals from their last six games.

They are the second club behind Bayern Munich in elite European competition to create 100 goals in all competitions this season.

Mourinho is furious, claiming Spurs became victims of VAR after losing
Opponents found by Tottenham in recent times have given a lot of goals but do not show the best quality, but Mourinho is clearly happy.

“I am happy with the character of the players, the feeling and the smile when scoring 100 in a season and we are a team that loves to defend,” Mourinho said.

After Bale’s opening goal, Tottenham defended a lot following Christian Benteke’s equalizer late in the first half.

Bale returned the lead before Kane’s two goals sealed the win.

“It looked crazy but I was happy with the goal we conceded. My feeling in the 10 minutes of the first half was that if we finished the game 1-0 maybe we would start the second half the same way,” he said.

“We kind of lost the urge to attack. Gareth and Harry scored great goals. Harry’s first goal was amazing.”
