PARIS: Paris Saint-Germain forgot Neymar’s absence to beat Nimes 3-0 in Ligue 1 early this morning while the team faced crisis, Marseille conceded a two-goal advantage in a draw against Lens.

Angel di Maria put PSG ahead in the 17th minute at the Parc des Princes with Pablo Sarabia heading the Argentine for the second goal.

Kylian Mbappe scored the third goal for the hosts in the middle of the second half through a curling kick which is also his 15th goal of the season.

PSG handed the top spot after a shock 3-2 defeat to Lorient earlier, Mauricio Pochettino’s first defeat since taking over the team and remaining three points behind leaders Lille ahead of Sunday’s clash in Marseille.

“It was a great response after the disappointment of losing to Lorient,” Pochettino said. “Teams create opportunities and control matches.”

“We did not play two rounds of competition with the same seriousness, players may be thinking about this Sunday’s match,” he said.

“We all need to be at our best for 90 minutes, like the Champion Trophy.”
