Vardy Added To Arsenal’s Suffering

LONDON: Brendan Rodgers admires Jamie Vardy after his player scored late in the game during Leicester’s 1-0 win over Arsenal.

It was Arsenal’s third defeat in four Premier League meetings while Leicester jumped to fourth in the league.

Vardy, who has not fully recovered from a calf injury, was only included by Rodgers with 30 minutes left in the game, and he used it to score his sixth goal of the season.

The 33-year-old striker is quite sharp in front of Arsenal’s goal and has so far scored 11 goals in 12 Premier League matches against them.

“Our plan is to bring Jamie Vardy in to make a difference. He has made a huge contribution to important matches.

“It shows his level now and he is a world class player. I am lucky to have him,” Rodgers said after Leicester recorded their first win at Arsenal since 1973.

Arsenal are currently ranked 10th in the league after their second consecutive league defeat following a similar decision at Manchester City last weekend.
